Service Description
This is an invitation only event. As we enter into the winter solstice and the beginning of a new year, we often crave time for slowing down and reflecting. By doing so, we can gain insight and increase our experience of presence, awareness and connection with others. This in-person solstice retreat will offer opportunities for attunement and understanding; support us in identifying and expressing our emotions and acknowledging and respecting areas of similarities and differences. When we commit to practicing self-awareness, kindness, acceptance and honesty we can learn to fully experience and express ourselves in healthy ways, which is integral to being alive. This retreat will include time for mindfulness and gestalt awareness practices, a mixture of didactic and experiential exercises, and optional structured "open seat" sessions to dive deeper and gain greater support from the community. We will take time to nourish our bodies with healthy meals, breaks, walks, and stretching. Organic, nourishing 5-star meals will be provided by Chef Chad Greer and Elsie's Fermentary. Hot tub/cold plunge, yoga and roller space available weather permitting. (The hot tub is amazing in the rain!) Doors open 9:30am, session starts 10:00am on December 20th. Dinner served at 6 with option to stay into the evening for singing around the fire or from the hot tub/cold plunge. Details on Santa Cruz location offered upon registration. Overnight accommodations are available upon request for an additional fee. Day 2 will include additional dyad work, self-reflection activities and deeper shared group support. Accessibility is a key value of my practice. I welcome everyone regardless of financial circumstances. Please contact me at lisalachlan@gmail.com for more information regarding pricing and registration if the fee is a concern.

Participants will use respectful language, actively listen to others without interrupting, and refrain from offering unsolicited advice. Participants are encouraged to actively share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, contributing to the group discussion. Everyone should have an equal opportunity to speak and be heard, and support equity of voice. Participants should avoid dominating conversations or dismissing others' experiences. 5. To get the benefit of this work, participants should engage with a clear mind and avoid the use of mind-altering substances before, during and after attendance. 6. Gestalt Practice is an awareness practice. It is not a therapy. The facilitator is responsible for creating a safe space conducive to present centered awareness. The facilitator will enforce the community commitments and address any breach. If the facilitator believes someone is in danger, they will take direct action, even if it means breaching confidentiality. Further, we reserve the right to redirect people elsewhere when we believe participation in the group is not a good fit or may be harmful to any member. 7. It is anticipated that some participants may opt out of activities or leave the retreat after dinner. If a participant decides to leave the group early, please advise the facilitator to allow for an easy transition and proper goodbye for the group as a whole.
